la part maudite is a collection of notes that read à donner (to give away). These were retrieved by Achilles Mussche from objects placed on the street since 2021. He addresses the collection as an ongoing conversation with the people of Brussels. These handwritten notes serve as the basis for every letter to be copied by hand in watercolour.

The gift must be considered a loss and thus as a partialdestruction: the desire to destroy being in part carried over ontothe beneficiary. In the unconscious forms, such aspsychoanalysis describes them, it symbolizes excretion, which itself is tied to death, in accordance with the fundamentalconnection of anal eroticism and sadism (Bataille, 1970, I,310).
